Setting up multiple phones to sync to an OG Google Pixel for Google Photos unlimited

Many people are wanting to use their OG Pixel as a destination for their photos to preserve unlimited Google Photos. I think it would be useful to have specific instructions for this use case. I have it kind of working but am getting strange Android-Android sync issues. I’ll try to update here.

Instructions (draft): On OG Pixel:

1. Install Syncthing Android app.

On each source Android phone (phone that will have photos to sync):

1. Install Syncthing Android app.
2. Add the OG Pixel as a device.

On OG Pixel:

1. Add the source Android phone.

On each source Android phone (phone that will have photos to sync):

1. Add a Syncthing folder for each photo/video source folder (main Camera folder, other photo apps, WhatsApp images, etc.)

On the OG Pixel, you should get a notification that the source Android phone wants to share a folder. When this happens, on the OG Pixel:

1. Accept folder
2. Name folder to remember where the source is coming from (e.g. “John’s Phone - WhatsApp Images”)
3. Set the folder type to Receive Only
